Five K-beauty brands
and their visibility in AI answers.

This case study separates observed responses for Medicube, Round Lab, Anua, Beauty of Joseon, and d'Alba across seven AI engines from a projected scenario informed by Princeton's KDD '24 GEO research.

Methodology note: All five are public K-beauty D2C brands, not Findable customers. The measurements analyze public AI answers. The after scenario is a projection informed by academic research, not a measured outcome. Figures are tied to job IDs in the public K-GEO-Bench v0.1 dataset. The findings below are drawn from the Medicube and Round Lab measurements.
1.0 · Measurement Targets

Five brands, seven engines, four prompts, 28 live runs.

All five brands appeared consistently in global-engine responses, while Daum results varied by brand. Where an answer comes from changes what users see.

2.0 · Before · Live FindingsObserved

Where did these brands appear?

Strength

Global engines mentioned Medicube and Round Lab in all four tested prompts

Across the measured prompts, the four global engines—ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini—mentioned Medicube and Round Lab in 4/4 answers. This observation does not establish why those brands appeared.

Gap

Daum mentioned Medicube and Round Lab in two of four prompts

For both brands, Daum mentioned the brand in 2/4 tested prompts. The result shows a gap in this sample, but does not establish that Daum's index caused it.

Strength

HyperCLOVA X mentioned both brands in four of four prompts

Medicube and Round Lab appeared in all four tested HyperCLOVA X responses. This result is limited to the questions and dates measured; it is not a category-wide claim.

3.0 · After · Projected ImpactSimulation

What published GEO methods might change.

⚠ Simulation, not observed results. The +27%, +41%, and +31% figures are mean relative improvements in the primary metric reported by Princeton's English-language KDD '24 GEO-Bench experiments. They are not measured results for these five brands and do not predict outcomes in Korean. The other two methods are questions for future validation, not numerical forecasts.
