GEO guide

SEO and GEO, answered

Start with the measurement scope and score definitions. Disconnected engines are never counted as successful answers.

What is Findable?

Findable is a generative engine optimization platform that measures how often AI answers mention your brand, what they say, and which sources they cite. It turns the result into a dashboard, a technical report, and prioritized content actions.

How is GEO different from SEO?

SEO improves visibility and ranking on search result pages. GEO improves whether generative AI systems recognize, mention, and cite your brand when composing an answer. The channels overlap, but their scores are not interchangeable.

Which AI engines do you measure?

The supported scope is ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, HyperCLOVA X, Naver, and Daum. Only successful connected responses contribute to a score; disconnected and failed attempts remain visible but are excluded from the denominator.

What do the scores mean?

The GEO composite combines recognition, sentiment, citation quality, competitive position, and answer appearance. Answer appearance is the percentage of successful answers that mention the brand at least once. They are separate metrics, not duplicate headline scores.

What can I do after a measurement?

Review the AI excerpts and sources in the dashboard, compare runs in measurement history, and use the action queue to prioritize fixes. Saved tracking questions accumulate results on the next measurement.

Ads burn. GEO compounds.

Search ads and SEO exist only while you keep paying. Stop, and your visibility disappears. That's rent. GEO is different. Once you make AI cite you accurately and often, that visibility carries into the next answer and the next model. Not a burn rate, but equity that accrues to your brand.

Borrowed visibility (Rent)
Search ads · banners: gone the moment you stop paying
Same money, same slot, every month (no compounding)
Reset whenever the platform changes its rules
Performance = this month's spend
Accruing visibility (Equity)
AI citation assets: accrued consistency stays as answers change
The more it accrues, the likelier you're cited (est. compounding)
Brand-fact consistency transfers even as engines change
Performance = the AI trust you've built up

The brand that starts now becomes the default answer a year from now. Stop renting. Start building equity.

Sources

AI barely reads your homepage.

When we measure it, the sources AI leans on are mostly Naver blogs and wikis. That's where the work actually is.
