What is a brand entity?
An entity is the unit that search engines and AI bind together from a name, field, operator, and official site into one object. A clear brand entity keeps AI from confusing you with something else.
Why it matters
AI separates objects by meaning rather than spelling. When several objects share a similar name, scattered information about you can mix with information about another.
What makes up an entity
The official name and variants (native-language and English), a one-line description, the field, the operating organization, the main domain, official profile addresses, and the logo. This must be consistent across the site and outside profiles.
How to organize it
1) Decide one sentence that describes the brand and use it everywhere. 2) Add Organization structured data with name, main domain, and logo. 3) Link only official profiles you actually run through sameAs. 4) Check that third-party sources such as news and directories show the same name and description.
What not to do
Adding unverified awards, customers, or results, or linking accounts you do not operate as official profiles, hurts trust. Use only information you can confirm.
Managing name variants
If the brand is written in two scripts, repeat a sentence that connects them in one place, such as 'Native name (English name)'.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Wikidata or Wikipedia entry?
Not required. Listings need independent third-party sources, so it is better to build outside sources such as news and directories first.
When do results show?
Search engines and AI must recollect the information, so it usually takes several weeks or more. Confirm change through repeated measurement.
