What is E-E-A-T?
E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness, a lens Google uses to evaluate content quality. It is closer to a framework for judging quality than a direct ranking formula.
The four elements
Experience is evidence of having done it, expertise is deep understanding of the topic, authority is recognition in the field, and trust is being accurate, transparent, and reliable. Trust is described as the most important.
How to show it on a page
Name the author and operator, give update dates, attach sources to claims, and publish contact and business information. Publishing measured data and methods shows experience and expertise together.
Relation to AI citation
Which sources an AI relies on is not public. Still, a page with clear sources and a visible author is easier to trust for both people and machines.
Common mistakes
Superlatives without evidence, unverified awards or customers, and articles with no visible author reduce trust.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an E-E-A-T score?
No. It is a lens used in quality evaluation, not a single score.
